Paladin Preferred Capital  is in the process of appointing 20 carefully chosen members of the business, real estate and community outreach sectors to participate in our exclusive Round Table Advisory Board. The Members of this Board are highly acclaimed professionals in their chosen field as well as community spirited citizens who share the ideals of the Paladin definition that describes an idealistic person who seeks better treatment of others.

 

The Round Table Advisory Board will participate in regular high level communications and integrated discussion initiated by executives of Paladin regarding the company's business plans, creative strategies, developing and on-going relationships, projects, market trends and overall company performance. The Round Table Advisory Board Members meet quarterly in a social venue and are invited to special events sponsored by the company.  The Members may use the communications and event venues to develop deeper social and business relationships with other Members of the group. They may also develop revenue streams through the company's vast referral platform.

DOLAPO ASIRU

Round Table Advisor

Dolapo Asiru brings extensive knowledge and resources in the international capital markets to the Paladin platform. Mr. Asiru enjoys an extensive, 24-year background in investment banking and international development in a variety of business sectors. Besides his successful track record on Wall Street as a stockbroker and derivatives trader, he has special expertise in international mergers and acquisitions, corporate and operational finance, risk-management, marketing analysis, and large-volume transactions.

 

He was the founder of American Midland, a successful and prestigious mortgage banking organization in Beverly Hills, California, and as President, completed several complex real estate financing transactions. As President of One Origin, Inc., he delivered tactical solutions on various projects in a wide range of fields including oil and gas, finance and infrastructure development. His advisory role continues deep into the walls of the United Nations General Assembly. He has provided consultation and advisement to several African governments, including attendance at the annual United Nations General Assembly meetings. Dolapo graduated from the State University of New York with a B.A. in Economics and later earned an M.B.A. in Finance and Management.

NICK STUDEBAKER

Nick Studebaker co-created a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the educational needs of the people of Asia. In 2004, when the tsunami struck, this non-profit organization partnered with other international agencies (NGOs) in order to assist in the revitalization of their community. The organization successfully empowered the people to rebuild over 700 homes in the worst affected areas of the region.

 

Today, Nick has envisioned and created an integrated model for the collaboration of Education, Technology, Financial Profitability and Opportunities. All the while with his primary goal seated in the betterment of the people.

 

 

MARK KIGER

Mark is founder of Los Angeles based G5 Risk Management. Prior to this enterprise he was Western Regional Manager of AON insurance, specializing in high end commercial real estate. Prior to AON, Mark was  a partner and managing executive with Lockton, the world's largest privately held insurance brokerage specializing in real estate, construction, environmental, directors & officers, employee benefits, surety, private equity, distressed business, alternative risk financing and collateral management & recovery.

SCOTT DERRICK

Scott Derrick has over 16 years in the commercial real estate industry, Mr. Derrick has extensive knowledge and professional resources in a wide variety of asset types and markets. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Preferred Capital Holdings, LLC. Prior to forming PCH, Mr. Derrick served as Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions for a national firm for six years, identifying and pursuing real estate opportunities nationwide in student housing, multifamily, retail and office, targeting investments that offered optimal returns.

 

He also pursued value-add and development opportunities as well as joint venture partnerships for the company and oversaw disposition activity. Mr. Derrick has led the acquisition of over $1.5 Billion in property since 2004, acquiring assets from institutional level owners such as Archstone, Equity Residential, Regency Centers, Trammell Crow Residential, Sentinel, American Campus Communities, Embrey Partners, Fairfield Residential, Weingarten and The Dinerstein Companies.

 

Mr. Derrick is a specialist in student housing and multi-family on a nationwide basis. He was also recently elected to the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council. He appears frequently as a guest speaker at industry events and is often quoted in the media.Prior to heading up the Acquisitions Group, Mr. Derrick was a top performing agent for CB Richard Ellis, Rodeo Realty of Beverly Hills and Prudential California Realty. Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Mr. Derrick provided funding for the entertainment industry, raising in excess of $100,000,000 in capital for various projects for cinema, television and music.

JUSTINE RENEE

Justine brings a diverse amount of knowledge from her 10+ years in Real Estate. As a licensed broker, Justine has spent time in management for lending institutions, real estate brokerages, auction service providers, and capital investment companies. She has assisted Chase, CITI Financial, Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo, Countrywide, Bank of America, as well as other clients, in the valuation, management, and successful disposition of foreclosed homes.

 

In 2009 alone, her REO team closed 135 escrows with a total value in excess of $30,000,000. Justine also served as the Asset Manager, Listing Agent, and Project Manager throughout her career at Treo Capital Group on the purchase, construction, sell, and profitable allocation of funds to its investors. Since 2010, Justine has focused entirely on Investment Real Estate, during which time she has worked with SRE Investing and Blackstone. Justine holds a BS from the University of Maryland, where she studied abroad for 3 years in 10 different countries throughout Europe.

DAVID TAKAKAWA

David Takakawa is the Founder and Fund Manager of BRC Investment Company which manages debt and equity real estate investments on behalf of institutional, individual and family office clients.  In 2012 Mr Takakawa co-founded Arch Bridge Loans and BRC Investments Debt Fund, private direct lending companies providing bridge loans to investors and developers of value-add residential and commercial properties in California.  To date, the funds have closed over $35 million in bridge loans with $0 loan losses and average returns over 12%.  Mr. Takakawa is a commercial banking veteran with 20 years of lending experience and has closed over $2 billion in commercial real estate loans, while serving as VP and Senior Loan Officer with Bank of America and Union Bank. Mr. Takakawa’s experience includes: loan origination, underwriting, servicing structured finance and mezzanine debt for value add projects, multi-asset revolving lines of credit, Tenant-In-Common (TIC) Sponsors and Public REITs, and customized swap and other derivative hedging products.

 

BRC Investment Company also buys value-add projects for its own account, employing both buy-and-sell and buy-and-hold strategies. As an owner and syndicator of residential and commercial properties, Mr. Takakawa has hands-on experience in turning around distressed properties and non-performing notes in all major asset classes. Since 2002, he has bought, managed, and sold 27 value-add apartment buildings and commercial properties in Southern California. Over the past four years, he has also rehabilitated and flipped 80 residential homes in the LA market, buying properties through foreclosure auction, reo, short-sales and off-market. This unique experience as both a lender and investor allows him to apply his institutional banking background, understanding of risk management, and hands-on investor experience to the private lending business.

 

Mr. Takakawa earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, he serves on the board of Blind Start of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping visually impaired Americans live independent lives.

Thomas Gay is a life-long business owner and entrepreneur. His companies have been IT pioneers bringing new solutions to complex business problems. In the 80′s he founded National Decision Systems (NDS), the pioneer in advanced site selection and target marketing tools for major consumer goods companies. Tom’s firm was twice honored with the coveted INC 500 Award and he sold it in 1988 to Equifax (NYSE) of Atlanta, Ga. Today, NDS’ tools are still the industry standard and the company is now owned by A.C. Nielsen.

 

n 1990, Tom started VistaInfo (VINF-NASDAQ) to deliver real time, geo-targeted property risk info to banks, insurers, realtors and home buyers across the USA. After going public in 1997, Tom was honored in an Individual Investor Magazine cover story (May 1999) where he was called one of the “5 Best Undiscovered CEO’s” in the USA. VistaInfo was named a “Magic 25” company in 1999 and was acquired in 2000 with sales of $80mm to create what is now known as Fidelity National Information Solutions (FNIS-NYSE).

 

In 2001, Tom and his wife, Patti, went to South Africa where they started a non-profit ministry organization, Monte Christo Ministries (MCM). Today, MCM feeds thousands of people daily and brings together organizations, churches and universities, world-wide, to relieve the burdens of poverty, apartheid and HIV/AIDS in the Cape Town Area. Unique to MCM is the use of marketplace strategies to build self-sustainable programs and for creating “for profit” projects inside of the ministry’s non-profit structure. These generate funding, create jobs and add long term viability for MCM’s community upliftment programs.

 

Returning to the USA and Idaho in 2009, Tom founded a nationwide relationship training company, Turnkey Strategic Relations (turnkeysr.com) and started a CEO consulting firm, The Alternative Board (tab-boise.com).

 

n 2011, Tom started his newest venture, an exciting web 2.0 technology firm called 22touch.com. This company is built on his lifelong success in using and teaching systematic relationship selling and referral marketing practices across the world. 22touch.com delivers a proven toolkit aimed at professional services executives, small and mediun sized businesses, community service organizations and sales people in all walks of life. It provides a suite of “cloud based” referral- generating training videos and web-mobile application tools.

KEVIN LOUIE

Kevin Louie brings over 23 years financial & real estate experience to the company. Louie was Vice President of Portfolio Management at Rockwood Capital, a private real estate equity investment firm. During his 5 year tenure at Rockwood Capital, Louie oversaw all facets of activity within the fund portfolios, ranging from underwriting, asset management, portfolio analysis, investor relations and fund raising. Being an integral part of the fund management, Louie developed an intimate knowledge of real estate acquisition, asset management and portfolio management. He also oversaw the analytic group and trained associates in financial modeling and analysis.

 

Subsequent to Rockwood Capital, Louie went on to become partner and CFO of 365 Main Inc., a national real estate data center development company. As CFO, Louie oversaw all business, financial and accounting aspects of the company. During his tenure, Louie contributed to the development and growth of the company from $6M to $72M annualized Net Operating Income across 5 assets. In 2010, the properties were sold to Digital Realty Trust for $725M.

 

Subsequent to 365 Main Inc., Louie has been advising various companies in the capacities of principals and board members of Rubicon Point Partners, Cube Realty Holdings, Scrubbed.net & BRC Advisors. Louie is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and University of Southern California with a Masters in Business Administration. Louie is an inactive CPA, having last practiced accounting 15 years ago at Ernst & Young LLP.

Leo Lu

Leo Lu possesses 18+ years of business and technology experience as a strategic and executive management officer. The knowledge he has contributed to industry peers include innovations expertise leading start- ups, SMBs with $750M in sales revenue to Fortune 500 companies. Leo has been part of winning organizations such as IBM, Franklin Templeton, DHL, and EarthLink. Leo was part of a pioneering SaaS company that disrupted the market landscape through their patented development of application virtualization and streaming technologies. During his tenure, he architected and led global teams of engineers to displace a traditional application marketplace.

 

In his capacity as a Senior Partner at his firm, Leo is responsible for securing large- scale business opportunities both nationally and globally. In his off-time, Leo is an active community leader with Rotary International, LA5 and a former Scout. Leo holds a BSc in Information Technology - Media Visual Communication and a MBA. With a thirst for knowledge, Leo has continued his graduate studies in Data Mining at Stanford and is currently a PhD candidate in Computation Sciences at Chapman University.
